Lei Zhang [pronunciation: Ley Jahng]

Short Bio: Lei Zhang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Systems at UMBC. His primary research interest is software engineering. He is particularly interested in understanding the interactions between software engineering and emerging technologies, such as quantum computing and machine learning. Lei also has over five years of software development experience as a software engineer and project coordinator outside academia. Before joining UMBC, he was a post-doctoral research fellow at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University). Zhang received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from McMaster University. His master’s and bachelor’s degrees were received from The University of Hong Kong and Zhejiang University, respectively.
